Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The First English Edition, published in 1895, was translated from the Second German Edition, published in 1 8 94. This, the Second English Edition, which is a translation of the Fourth (latest) German Edition, is only a few pages less than twice the size of its predecessor. There have also been added 70 new illustrations, many of which are coloured.
