Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The purpose of the book is to present, in lconcise form, the different processes used for extracting the important metals from their ores, and for refining them. Both the student and the practical engineer can thus get a broad View of modern metallurgical operations, without taking the time required for a study of the more detailed treatises on the subject.
