The Message of Forgiveness, one of the masterpieces of philosophical Arabic literature, in which Abu Al-Ala Al-Maarri weaves in a sarcastic style and deep philosophical insights a fictional story that combines heaven and hell, to be a stage for a philosophical dialogue with Arab poets and writers. The story includes Ibn al-Qarih''s journey to the afterlife, where he meets Arab poets and determines their fates in heaven or hell according to their poetic works. In this treatise, Al-Maarri presents a critique of the concepts of religion, science, and ethics, using his vast imagination to present a divine comedy in a unique literary style. Despite all this, the line between fantasy and reality remains present, which makes the logic of events seem tangible despite the fictional clothes worn by the text.
