The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between leadership styles and different types of organizational commitment in the Public Service Organization of Ethiopia: The case of Yeka Sub City Administration of Addis Ababa. Information was gathered, using two instruments, questionnaire and interview, from a total sample of 297, 40 leaders and 257 employees or raters. Leadership styles were identified as the independent variable and organizational commitment as the dependent variable. Data obtained from each of the research instruments was statistically analyzed, and then triangulated using purposive sampling method from four key interviewees. Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, percentages, mean and standard deviations were used while inferential statistics such as t-test and a two tailed Pearson correlation were used.
