Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The following treatise was originally prepared by appointment of the Educational Association of the State of Virginia. Having been favorably received by that body, it is now respectfully offered to a larger circle of teachers and scholars, in the hope that thereby some contribution may be made towards a just settlement of the still very uncertain practice of our schools in the matter of Latin Pronunciation.
