What will it take to live from the deepest part of your soul?I burnt down the maiden within me in a week of sweat, tears and despair. Along with that I burnt down the feelings of not being enough, not being worthy, not being validated. I had a fire ceremony. I vowed to never abandon myself again. I tore myself away from this maiden and it ripped at my heart and skin like a lion devouring its prey. Right until the last minute I was holding on for dear life. Then I breathed out and let go. Darlene Mason is an artist, advocate for youth, candlemaker and now a writer.
