Iranian cinema and society

This book attempts to present the social phenomena and changes that the Iranian reality has witnessed over the course of its decades. These changes did not have the Islamic Revolution as their sole nucleus, but rather were accumulations that were the result of many reasons, including the existing identity conflicts within the pluralism of this society, and what the monarchy contributed to in creating the seeds of many social diseases, which later matured and expressed themselves explicitly during the Islamic Revolution. This book focuses on attempts at Iranian societal reform - especially in light of current events and Iran''s ambiguous role in them - rather than being based on cinema or its industry. Rather, cinema was a means and an eye that the writer used to see and monitor Iranian society through the eyes of its people.
