A comprehensive account of the national laws and the administrative machinery pertaining to the patent system is furnished in Chapter III. Chapter IV describes the patenting procedures in India and abroad. Chapter V makes an observation of the implications of IPR in the Pharmaceutical arena.Chaper VI unravels the intricacies involved in patenting of life or bio-patenting. The national and international legal instruments for the protection of IPR on the biological diversity constitute the theme for Chapter VII. An explicit discussion on the specific dimensions of IPR protection on farm animal genetic resources is furnished in Chapter VIII. Chapter IX is the last one in the series. It gives a brief account of the ICAR guidelines on IPR management.
