Nature has often provided valuable molecules either as lead compounds or for use in the fight against pests. Though a number of conference proceedings deal with the control of insects using natural products, there is no comprehensive account of what materials have been studied and what results have been obtained. The first section of the book covers chemistry and biological activity of major classes of naturally occurring pesticides, including the development of more potent insecticides based on natural lead-in structures. The second section consists of monographs on each compound by product.
