History of the Press

Emile Boivin is one of the French historians who paid great attention to historiography for the press. Although he directed all his attention to the history of journalism in his country. His history was like that of other scholars and researchers in journalism affairs, as he linked the history of newspapers with political history. In fact, these two histories are inseparable. The more political incidents and fluctuations occurred, the more newspapers flourished and the readership for them increased.This book included the history of the press in France from its inception until the end of 1948. It did not neglect to talk about the history of French newspapers published outside France, and to refer to the history of the foreign press in countries other than France. However, his reference to the history of the non-French press was insufficient, due to his interest in the history of the French press alone.
