Development and schooling

This book aims to provide answers to the following questions: (i) Why do parents allow their children to work instead of attending school and (ii) how can we explain the schooling and its relation­ship with a country''s economic development? For this purpose, this book deals with different perspectives of schooling, child labor and academic performance related with economic growth, globalization, public spending, poverty, official aid, crime and cash transfer programs.
