Design of a High-Speed Steam Engine

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. When the first edition of this book was published the intention was to make it Part I of a treatise on the Dynamics and Design of a high-speed Steam Engine. Part II was to treat of the Dynamics and Design of Shaft Governors. This second part is now nearly finished, but proves to be so difficult and volumi nous as to make it unsuitable for most undergraduate work in technical schools; it will, therefore, be issued as a separate and independent work.
