BIGGER Than ME

Bigger than Me sums up seventeen years of being homosexual, then finally saying yes to God and no to homosexuality. I've always known God because I grew up in church, but when my life did not line up with what "e;church people"e; accepted, I decided to part ways with Christ and do life without Him. Fortunately for me, God's grace was constantly chasing me down. Seventeen years later, I realized that He wasn't concerned about my sexuality more than He was about me just spending time with him and being in a relationship with Him.I like to think of my relationship with Christ just like any other relationship specifically with someone you love. You spend time with each other, you go through things with each other, and want what's best for one another. You eventually love them so much that you make changes about yourself that you've learned he/she is not fond of in order to have the best relationship possible. I never thought I could live life without being gay because that was my community, and that's who accepted me when the church and some family rejected me. It wasn't until I reconnected with God that I found it to be possible.Contrary to what some Christians and Christian protesters have tried to make the LGBQIA+ community believe, that God does not love them because they are gay, the truth is He does love you just the way you are and He loves you too much to let you stay the same.Let me introduce you to my best friend. He's patient. He's kind. He does not envy. He isn't boastful. He isn't arrogant. He isn't rude. He doesn't get irritated. He doesn't keep record of what you did wrong. Oh, and He is looking for more friends.
