The Path to Contentment in Islam

Contentment is a gift from God to those with whom He is content. They will have a prosperous life with peace of heart and mind. In the Hereafter they will be with those with whom God is content. Believers who have faith in God's Book and the Traditions of His Messenger will seek guidance in them to the paths to contentment. The approach of this book is to search within the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Traditions to find the paths to obtain God's contentment. The first approach to contentment is the love between the believer and God. When God loves a believer, he will receive the bounty of His love, and its reward is mutual love. To obtain such love, believers must be always conscious of Him, do those things that God loves, and refrain from doing what God does not love. God rules the universe with His utmost Wisdom and Mercy. how we deal with the tests He gives us forms the basis of judgment on the Day of Judgment. Being patient and persevering during these tests will bring God's mercy and contentment. By accepting and being content with God's will and what He has ordained will also bring contentment. Remembrance of God brings believers closer to Him, and by their good deeds, with the sincere intention of attaining God's contentment. Being thankful for God's limitless Grace will cause Him to bless it for you and make you contented with it. Being forbearing, forgiving and pardoning is a way to gain God's contentment. Islam encourages believers to repel evil with good. God loves the patient, the virtuous, and the thankful, and will bestow on them His contentment, the greatest reward reward that believers can receive.
