The Nightingale and the Rose / ??????????

'She said that she would dance with me if I brought her red roses'

「赤いバラを持ってきたら一緒に踊るって言ってたよ」

'but in all my garden there is no red rose' cried the young Student

「でも、うちの庭には赤いバラがないんだよ」と若い生徒は叫びました

from her nest in the holm-oak tree the nightingale heard him

セイヨウヒイラギガシの木の巣から、ナイチンゲールは彼の声を聞きました

and she looked out through the leaves, and wondered

そして、葉の間から外を眺め、不思議に思いました

'No red rose in all my garden ' he cried

「庭に赤いバラがいない 」と彼は叫びました

and his beautiful eyes filled with tears

そして、その美しい瞳には涙があふれていた

'On what little things does happiness depend '

「幸せはどんな些細なことで決まるのか 」

'I have read all that the wise men have written'
