Colonel Amadeus Ignazio "Skip" Schiaparelli is once again given a mission that takes him and his men halfway around the globe with new partners and new challenges. Although swearing that his new partners can trust him and his men, even unto death, Skip is not convinced that he can believe them when they say the same.

Bound by long-held principles of loyalty, friendship, and honour, Skip and his men continue to operate as they always have. But in an environment shaped by secrecy and competing agendas, betrayal lies close at hand, waiting beneath the surface.

Guided by his central belief that trust is earned, not claimed, Skip presses forward. Yet when necessity replaces choice and deception clouds intent, can even the most seasoned instincts be relied upon to tell the difference between justice and vengeance?
