Tears of the Prairie: Prairie Rose

Lydia Sterling, daughter of oil tycoon, Charles Sterling, of Birmingham, Alabama, rebels against her father's destruction of the small prairie town of Crescent, Nebraska. Fleeing years of his domination, she sets out to help the people and the lands he has hurt. Hiding her true identity, she finds a place of service in a small cafe, where she meets the love of her life, Jesse Whitefox. Despite the "tears of the prairie," the couple's souls seem to combine during a beautiful summer of love and laughter in the world of Nature, as a mysterious force draws them together. However, after a heated argument she, again, flees.As she is leaving Crescent, Lydia is severely injured, while saving a toddler's life. She is taken back to her father's house to convalesce. There she learns, to her horror, about the family curse. In her anguish, she finds the peace and the true freedom of the Lord and purposes to seek His will for her life...
