Rhetorik und Interdiskursanalyse: Theoretische und praktische Zugriffe auf ein wenig beachtetes Verhältnis

Although there is extensive research on rhetoric as well as on interdiscourse theory and analysis, the interdependencies between the two research paradigms have so far received little attention. This is all the more surprising when one realizes in how many areas the two not only overlap, but that rhetoric and interdiscourse analysis, despite their different theoretical and methodological approaches, address similar textual phenomena and problems with similar questions. Such points of contact and overlaps have their roots in the basic theoretical and methodological options of both disciplines as well as in the historical dynamics of their development. In the field of questions and research that opens up between these two poles, the present volume, which goes back to a conference at the University of Duisburg-Essen in fall 2021, makes a first attempt to trace the relations between the two paradigms and to explore the interrelationships between rhetoric and discourse analysis in a series of concrete analyses.
