Respiratory Syncytial Virus

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is an important respiratory pathogen of infants and young children and is the most common cause of lower respiratory tract infection-related hospitalisation of children under the age of one. In this book, the authors present current research in the study of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of RSV. Topics discussed include the genetic variables that play a role in the presentation and the outcome of severe RSV disease; cellular immunity and immunoproteomics of HLA class I ligands in HSRV infection and recurrent infections, chronic sequelae, and risk factors for RSV.
