Recovery of Metals from WEEE. Medellín (Colombia)

This book reviews the problem of the generation of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), the main challenges we face and the line in which legislation and government policies are advancing. It also includes the Best Available Techniques (BAT) and presents the production schemes of the main companies in the sector.In the second part of the book, a method is proposed to recover the metals present in computer motherboards and the process is carried out step by step, including conclusions and recommendations.Finally, an economic study is carried out estimating how much it would cost to scale up a process of these characteristics to an industrial level to process the WEEE produced in a city like Medell n (Colombia).
