Production process mapping

Due to globalization and the demand for new technologies in the market, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have an important role to play in society. In turn, they are able to develop scientific research that can contribute to the development of technological strategies and innovations. When performing practical activities in the scope of laboratories, the attention of users must be redoubled, as well as correctly execute procedures to obtain successful experiments, free of non-conformities in the process. To control processes, it is necessary to have a complete understanding of all the steps, and it is necessary to use mapping techniques, such as the use of flowcharts. This book aims to show the applicability of the process mapping through the elaboration of the activity flowchart, aiming to provide a systematic view of all the steps that include the process of casting and solidification of alloys.
