Please Tell Me Who I Am

It is 1966, in rural Alberta. Fourteen year-old Alexis is living alone with a father who is distant and demanding after being abandoned by her mother at age four. The stress and isolation are held in check by her habit of self harming. The minor injuries she imposes upon her arms helps to manage the pain in her heart, but with dire consequences. Will her secret be revealed when her wounds become badly infected? When an enigmatic and mysterious librarian comes to town, she tries to insinuate herself into Alexis' life. This both frightens and angers Alexis. She is pitched head-long into roles of victim and detective, feeling betrayed and abandoned and deceived. Alexis seeks truth despite the many who lure her away from discovering what they believe will harm her. But truth will tell, the cost is being both bound to it and free.
