Optimal supply in pharmacies and food and nutrition services

This book shows the use of stochastic tools to optimal supply in pharmacies and food and nutrition services, providing a practical guide for making purchasing decisions when there are demand and demand during the lead time of the supplier that are uncertain scenarios. These scenarios consider the cases of demand dependent on exogenous factors, such as the case of demand for components associated with the demand for other components or menus in food and nutrition service, as well as when there is uni or bi-varied temporary dependence. Finally we also treat the case when there is intermittent demand, that is, when it is simply zero in some periods. We consider programmed codes in R language that will serve as an example to readers.
