On the Other Side of the Door

On the other side of the door is an account of what it was really like to work at the famed Camarillo State hospital in the 1970's as witnessed by a real life psychiatric technician. It details the treatment methods used at the time and gives the reader an insight into the many curious and sometimes shocking aspects of mental illness itself. Real patients are described and several contentious issues such as electro convulsive therapy and the use of force are discussed.
