Miles To Go: Episodes From a Life Half-LIved

This is a story of a boy's life, first growing up on a farm in a small town on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, then leaving to encounter the broader world beyond. It is a memoir which describes episodes involving education, work, adventures, and relationships. The book is the author's attempt to describe, honestly and quite intimately:

the variety of experiences he encountered the people and events influencing his growth and thinkingthe beliefs, values, and characteristics which define him, and life back on the wonderful Eastern Shore of Virginia

The story covers 70 years of recent history from the perspective of one life, in a diverse mix of settings. It offers the reader one way to understand the idyllic life of the '50s, the turmoil of the '60s, then 3 self-focused decades, ending with the political upheavals of the post 9/11 decades. It is hoped that the reader will find much to relate to in this, a quite personal account of one man's life.
The author, Keith (Kim) Miles, went from spreading manure and shucking corn to the halls of the White House and back home again, savoring every minute (well, almost) of an unexpected life.
