Lawrence County Missouri Abstract of Will Book One

Lawrence County Historical Society member Fred G. Mieswinkel transcribed and indexed these records from Will Book One at the Lawrence County Missouri Courthouse.It begins with an alphabetic index to wills, followed by data from entries as entered in the book, chronological by date probated. It is indexed by surname only. A sample entry: "p. 212: Green C. Stotts, 4 Nov. 1876, wife Mary Jane Stotts, children not named, executor Thomas B. Turk, witnesses George W. Stotts, Robert G. Stotts, probated 10 November 1876." Some have additional notes: (ex: "If gabriel (sic) Robertson shall stay on the farm with my wife and son George W. Rinker that he have a good common schooling and clothing ..."). This is among Lawrence County Missouri Historical Society publications reprinted by the Society in 2018 as Heritage Editions.
