Laminated bamboo panels with sarrafeado eucalyptus

Bamboo and eucalyptus are important forest resources. Giant bamboo slats obtained through the turning process are wide, thin, continuous and constitute an excellent standardised industrial material that can be used to coat and reinforce wood and lignocellulosic panels, as well as providing an excellent surface finish. Manufacturing techniques and mechanical tests used to produce and characterise eucalyptus sawn panels coated with bamboo veneers are shown.The use of laminated bamboo in sawn panels promotes mechanical reinforcement and a change in the behaviour of these panels from abrupt breakage to more predictable and ductile breakage, making the panel more reliable and suitable for use.
