Income Distribution Patterns of Broiler Farmers

This book analyzed the income distribution among broiler farmers in Imo State, Nigeria. It provides a teaching and learning text on research methods with a focus on the income distribution patterns of broiler farmers, average net broiler farm income and non-farm income, different scales of broiler production, determinants of net farm income of broiler farmers, and socio-economic features of broiler farmers in Imo State. Data were collected on the socio-economic variables of the broiler farmers; scales of operation of broiler farmers; the cost of broiler production, imputed cost; and revenue from broiler production. Use was made of descriptive statistics, Gini Coefficient, Lorenz curve, decile distribution, multiple regression, profitability ratio, and net income model tools in the analyses. Its purpose is to inform, educate, and enlighten lecturers, students, policymakers, technocrats, and socio-development workers.
