Improving Prognosis for Kidney Disorders

More than half a million people worldwide are now sustained by renal replacement therapy, mainly haemodialysis at a cost exceeding 30 billion dollars per year. Each case of ESRD that is delayed or prevented saves funds that may be applied to other aspects of health care. This work provides a summary of work in progress directed toward renoprotection and of ultimate interdiction of ESRD.
