Image Encryption on FPGAs

The rise of the Internet and digital networks has made the exchange of information faster than ever, but has also increased the risks related to data security, particularly for images. Faced with threats of hacking, spying, and falsification, encryption has become an essential tool for guaranteeing the confidentiality and integrity of content. Among emerging approaches, chaotic systems stand out for their dynamic and unpredictable properties, offering a particularly effective framework for carrying out the confusion and diffusion operations necessary for robust encryption.This book presents a symmetric cryptosystem based on chaos theory, specifically designed for the protection of digital images. It highlights the key role of hardware implementation, where FPGAs allow for the rapid, secure, and optimized execution of encryption algorithms. By combining the strengths of chaotic systems with the power of reconfigurable hardware processing, this work demonstrates how to achieve a high level of security while meeting the performance requirements of modern applications.
