This is a book about how I made it out with a sound mind The way I describe my drug and alcohol addiction is going from a pothole to a ditch to a sinkhole and then to a manhole. The progression of my addiction was real, and it began to feel like I was at a point of no return. In my lowest moments, I knew God had a hedge around me, and I would confess that to the other addicts I was around because the feeling was so real. People were dying with the crack pipe in their hands, and I knew the way I smoked, and as much as I smoked, for as long as I smoked, and the way I lived, there was no way I should still be standing.
