Se trata de la ltima versi n que revis y corrigi personalmente el autor de este cl sico contempor neo sin igual en nuestra lengua.

En 2004 y coincidiendo con la celebraci n del IV Centenario de la publicaci n de la primera parte de Don Quijote de la Mancha, la Real Academia Espa ola y la Asociaci n de Academias de la Lengua Espa ola dieron inicio a un proyecto de edici n de grandes obras de la literatura en espa ol. Concebida como una l nea de ediciones conmemorativas ocasionales y de circulaci n limitada de los grandes cl sicos hispanos de todos los tiempos, dichas obras son publicadas y distribuidas en todo el mundo de habla hispana.

On the fiftieth anniversary of its original publication, the Royal Spanish Academy and the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language revive their commemorative edition of this masterpiece of 20th century literature.

It belongs to the series 'RAE and the ASALE Commemorative Editions.

In 2007, coinciding with the eightieth birthday of Gabriel Garc a M rquez, the Royal Spanish Academy and the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language prepared this commemorative edition of One Hundred Years of Solitude published by Alfaguara. It's the last version that the author personally reviewed and corrected of this contemporary classic that is without equal in our language.

Today, a decade later and after having spent several years away from bookstores, the edition is once again available to readers to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of its publication.

In this edition, Garc a M rquez's work is accompanied by splendid critical texts by authors of the calibre of Mario Vargas Llosa, lvaro Mutis, Carlos Fuentes, V ctor Garc a de la Concha, Claudio Guill n and Sergio Ram rez, among others.
