E Ho?i Ka U?i

Like the making of a lei, E Ho'i ka U'i interweaves diverse perspectives on place and placemaking from published texts, mo'olelo (stories), mele (songs), 'olelo no'eau (proverbs), hua'olelo (terminology), and interviews with built environment professionals and Hawaiian cultural practitioners. Strung together, this wisdom from both past and present begins to articulate the challenges, opportunities, and responsibilities that come with designing spaces and places in Hawai'i.
