Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1948. Marta, una joven de familia acomodada, recibe la noticia de que debe casarse con un chico que ha elegido su padre siguiendo intereses econ micos. Ante esta injusticia, se rebela y organiza junto a Teo, su gran amor, un viaje clandestino en uno de los buques que parten hacia Am rica. Pero un incidente impide a Teo subir al barco y, de repente, Marta se encuentra cruzando el oc ano Atl ntico sola. Aterrada.

Tras un a o arregl ndoselas por ella misma en Buenos Aires, disfrutando de la libertad y de la democracia, por fin llega Teo. Pero tambi n los localiza el peligroso Dar o Montes, un sicario contratado por el antiguo prometido de Marta, que no ha aceptado la afrenta del abandono justo antes de la boda. La joven pareja deber emprender entonces una nueva huida.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1948. Marta, a young woman from a wealthy family, is told she must marry a man her father has chosen for her, driven by financial interests. Refusing to accept such injustice, she rebels and plans a secret voyage to America with her great love, Teo.

But an unexpected incident prevents Teo from boarding, and suddenly Marta finds herself crossing the Atlantic Ocean alone -- terrified.

After a year of surviving on her own in Buenos Aires, savoring freedom and democracy, Teo finally arrives. But danger has followed them: Dar o Montes, a hitman hired by Marta's former fianc -- who has not forgiven her for leaving him before the wedding -- has found them. The young couple must now flee again, chasing love and freedom before both are lost forever.
