Does Incarceration Length Affect Labor Market Outcomes for Violent Offenders?

This study paper uses a reform of the Danish Penal Code concerning violent crimes to study the effects of an exogenous increase in incarceration length on labour market outcomes during the first three years after release. This is measured by unemployment rates, dependency on other public transfers, and earnings.
