Rookie witch Janelle Brighton thought solving a few crimes in Wyldwood Springs would score points in high places, but it's her magical malady that's caught the mayor's eye. The town leader is so worried she's assigned a mentor to watch over Janelle and her friends.

Feisty familiar Mr. Bixby is outraged. The chatty dachshund didn't cross back from the dead to be stuck on a leash like a regular dog.

Meanwhile, a librarian is reporting suspicious activity in the stacks. If it's the work of a new ghost dog, trouble will surely follow.

First thing on Janelle's agenda is finding a cure for her hiccups. Then, she'll need to outwit her powerful mentor and fulfill her destiny of rescuing another spectral dog in need.
