This study is devoted to the texts deriving from Hartmann von Aue's -Gregorius-: Arnold of Lubeck's -Gesta Gregorii Peccatoris-, the hexameter version -Gregorius Peccator-, the legend -Gregorius auf dem Stein- from -The Lives of the Saints-, and the exempla -De Gregorio- and -Gregorius de grote sunder-. It indicates linguistic and topical commonalities, foregrounds the adaptive procedures employed, and investigates changes in the circles of recipients. With the exception of Arnold's -Gesta-, the different instances of productive reception are presented in new editions of the text versions closest to Hartmann's original."
