The study found that raw carnauba straw has a significant adsorption capacity for removing the textile dyes methylene blue and crystal violet from aqueous media. Thus, the straw from this palm tree is an economically viable alternative to commercial adsorbents, as it is low cost, highly available, and a renewable material.
