Ang Kabakhawan Gabantay sa Atong Banay: The Mangroves Protect Our Homes

Mangroves protect tropical islands from tidal waves and storms. Mangroves are homes for baby fish and shrimp. Mangroves are at risk from tourism and other development. The author grew up in Negros Oriental, Philippines where the greatest number of hectares of mangroves are found. This is a children's book written in English and Cebuano/Visayan to teach students the beauty of the Philippines and the role mangroves play in protecting tropical islands.
