A detailed analysis of rock art on the small islands of the southern West Indies, principally Martinique, St Lucia, St Vincent and Granada. Marquet's approach looks specifically at the physical and cultural context of the three main types of art - pictograms, geoglyphs and petroglyphs - including the local geography, topography, climate and ecology. Over half of the volume comprises an inventory of sites along with illustrations of the art found there.
