What's in a Year

What's in a year This collection of poems was written since Donald Trump was elected president. I wrote every week a few poems at a time to reflect what was happening to me and the people around me in this year: a year consisting of episodes of fear, intense sadness and occasionally periods of great relief. During this year I experienced multiple losses that had to be met and accepted. It has been a trying time for me. As I complied this volume I was able to view the year as a mix of experiences, some awful and others wonderful. Recording my thoughts in this way helped me see, explore and now share my understanding of this difficult year. I have placed the poems in the order that they flowed out of my fingers. I mostly write using a minimalist canvas hoping to capture something for myself. I pass these words on hoping they will capture something for you. Bob Renard December 11, 2017
