What a Day to Die

This story is based on a true murder case which sent two Massachusetts police detectives on an unprecedented trip behind the Iron Curtain in the hunt for whomever was responsible for the vicious slaying of an average American, a hardworking husband and father. The case exemplifies the value that lawmen place on human life. Though the victim was ' only' the man next door, Detective Lieutenant Bill Thomas of the Massachusetts State Police and Joseph McCall of the Metropolitan Dictrict Police joined their efforts in an investigation that lasted more than two years. With the backing of their respective police agencies the detectives refused to quit on the case until they had obtained justice.This investigation was the first where American policemen were allowed to go behind the Iron Curtain to interview witnesses .
