In a world where men are bastards and women are trying to find value in their lives. In a place where employment is low, and pubs are full, there is a family struggling to find a better life. Using a small northern town as a backdrop to this gritty dark story that sheds light to what continues today in towns and cities throughout England. A story many working class people can relate and gain a passion that will hopefully smother out old attitudes. Lisa is an abused wife, a mother of two teenagers and... life is barely tolerable. However, an incident happens that changes their lives forever. A mystery that sets the tongues wagging in this small town that spreads the gossip like fire and is able to cover the murder of Lisa's husband, Johnny. The question is who killed him and where is the body. Somehow, Johnny's best mate, Dennis finds out the truth and Lisa finds herself back in the same disillusioned slump.
