VIP - Vancouver Island Path

The Vancouver Island Path travelogue captures a range of experiences and a deep appreciation for nature, local culture, and off-the-beaten-path discoveries. Starting with the touristic town of Parksville, we ventured through less popular Port Alberni with its majestic Cathedral Grove, and then into the remote coastal charm of Bamfield. The journey is marked by immersion in challenging yet scenic drives along twisting roads and personal encounters with unique accommodations.
Using Sooke as a base, we made radial trips to Cobble Hill, Malahat, and Shirley. Our travels wrapped up in the city of totems, Duncan, where a self-guided totem tour offered a perfect blend of fun, discovery, and cultural education.
The final stop on the island, the BC Forestry Museum, serves as a symbolic conclusion, reflecting the intersection of the island's history, natural resources, and evolving human footprint.
