After a family disaster, orphaned Lucy Snowe, flees England and her tragic past to become an instructor in a French boarding school in the town of Villette.
Villette was Charlotte Brontë's third and last novel published during her life. It has been praised for it’s striking modernity of psychological insight as well as being equal in dramatic force to her masterpiece Jane Eyre.
