UV Spectroscopic Method and Method Validation of Methylphenidate

This UV-spectrophotometric technique is quite simple, accurate, precise, reproducible, and sensitive. The UV method has been developed for quantification of Methylphenidate in tablet formulation. It involves absorbance measurement at 288 nm (ʎmax of Methylphenidate) in Ethanol and distilled water (89:11) ratio. For the UV Spectrophotometric method, linearity was obtained in a concentration range of 1-50 g/ml for methylphenidate and with a regression value of 0.9998.
