Using Cantonese

This book aims at newcomers to Hong Kong whose mother language is Mandarin Chinese. Combining common problems experienced by juniors in companies or freshmen in universities, it provides specific situations for language skill training. For example: How to introduce yourself during an interview? How to express yourself in a way that narrows the gap when you receive a client? How to deliver a speech that fit the theme? We provide audience with comparisons of different identities and situation of each topic, so as to help the audience better learn Cantonese, enhance the expressing ability and thus use the language properly. The book consists of 11 topics, each contains scenarios and one-minute speech as practice. By analyzing dialogue skills, words selection, content focus, developing skills and a focus on attitude, facial expressions and gestures, the book teaches the audience to speak Cantonese correctly in different situations. Each topic also provides practices, such as choosing how to respond in certain setting, or comparing among formal, informal and vulgar expressions and filling the blankets. The book adds two more lessons to teach the audience how to overcome pressure and become successful in interviews.
