To the Lighthouse is a landmark novel of high modernism. The novel's plot revolves around the Ramsay family's visit to the Scottish island of Skye between 1910 and 1920. The novel includes little dialogue and almost no action; most of it is written as thoughts and observations.
To the Lighthouse came in on second place when BBC Culture named ”The 100 greatest British novels”.
