TIDES - Book Two: Riptide

"We'd been married nearly two years when our lives suddenly took a bad turn, right over a precipice. I had awakened in the wee hours of the morning and decided I was a little hungry. I fixed a small bowl of cereal and stood by the French doors gazing out at the stars. I watched as the first grey light of dawn slowly made the stars begin to fade. Micah was suddenly at my side. "I need to get you out of here," he said between clenched teeth. "Why?" I gasped. His whole body was quivering and tense and I realized he was having a 'fight or flight' reaction. "Three mermen, maybe more, are coming," he said in a low voice, almost a growl. "They're coming for you." I gasped again. "Why?" "I'm not sure," he said. "I don't thi..." He stopped talking mid-word."
