The State University and Emerging Urban Marginalized Populations

An impoverished population seeks in the state university education of some of its members the possibility of an alternative to overcome its impoverishment, understanding that the constitution of human capital represents one means among others, where we know that the small educational differences in the present also determine smaller social differences, but the greater educational differences in the future will also mark much greater economic and social distances, education that provides better health, a prolonged life, greater material comforts, consequently a better standard of living, to which we all aspire. The almost free and trustworthy state university education of students coming from both private and state schools, compared to the more expensive alternative of private university education, is one of the factors that have been determining the behaviour of their demand.
